Pre Wedding Photography Shoot in Warwickshire

Ollie & Tim are due to wed in July. We cannot wait for their Warwickshire, festival themed, tipi wedding.

In the lead up to the big day we went for a walk with the latest addition to the family, Maxwell, a gorgeous Cockapoo who is pretty much their child! We walked around Hay Wood in Warwickshire, for a scenic photo shoot and thankfully the sun was shining.

A pre wedding, engagement, photo shoot is a great idea to get used to being in front of the camera. It also gives you a chance to get to know how we work at S2 Images. Couples are sometimes a little shy about doing a photo shoot, however, we’ve found so many couples that do actually take the plunge end up having a great time. It is a lot more of a relaxed environment in comparison to your wedding day. It is just an enjoyable trip out, with a camera along the way.

When we got married ourselves, the one thing we didn’t get was a couple shoot. So although we have photographs of our day, there are no images of us together without guests around. This is our one regret. We have actually been considering having a couple photo shoot done this year with a fellow photographer to celebrate our fifth wedding anniversary.

Time for a proposal story. We will open up the blog post to Ollie to talk about and share pictures of how her and Tim got engaged!

“At the time, Tim and I were living in New Zealand, where Tim is actually from. Tim woke me up at 3am and drove for just over two hours, to a place in New Zealand called Kaikoura. It was Anzac Day, a public holiday in New Zealand, so no one was around. We arrived at the coast just in time for sunrise and we climbed to the top of a hill to get the best view. It hadn’t really clicked that he was going to ask me and when he did I was in total shock!

After we watched the sunrise we headed back down the hill for the car. Tim opened the boot and inside he had a mini gas cooker, eggs, bacon, croissants and a bottle of champagne. He cooked me breakfast on the beach and we watched baby seals playing in the water while the mother was out hunting. It was pretty special and so amazing because we literally had the whole beach to ourselves.

We then headed back to Christchurch after our little romantic morning to tell Tim’s family the news. I think they were all pretty shocked but super happy for us, it was so nice for Tim to share that moment with them all, especially after he had been living away for so long.

My family were due to arrive in New Zealand from my home town in Warwickshire, England. They were heading over for a visit and to finally meet Tim’s family, this was due to be a week after we got engaged. We decided to keep it a secret from them, so we could tell them face to face. We had rented a house in Queenstown for the week. I removed my ring when we went to pick them up from the airport, as I wanted to tell them when we got back to the house.

At the house we had hung a sign in the kitchen above the balcony doors that said, ‘She Said Yes, We’re Engaged!’

My friend filmed the whole surprise. It was very emotional but also so amazing to share that moment with them, especially as we hadn’t seen them for such a long time. It made their trip even more amazing, as we got the chance to celebrate for a week straight!”

We love hearing stories about how people have come together to be in the position where they would like to get married. Weddings maybe a little bit stressful but they are ultimately a happy and exciting time. We at S2 Images couldn’t be more honoured to get the chance to photograph such a special occasion for couples.
