An Intimate Wedding – Worcestershire

A Beautifully Intimate Wedding at Hogarths Stone Manor, Worcestershire

Intimate Wedding

We met Heather and Damian at Aspire Events wedding show at Chateau Impney. We instantly formed a real connection, chatting away as if we had known each other for years. Clearly Damian and Simon formed a connection through beard bromance. They decided to have a small intimate wedding, having afternoon tea instead of a sit down meal. Thirty guests meant that this wedding was full of their closest loved ones. We even got to form a lovely bond with the guests, as it meant we had the chance to get to know everyone there. We felt like part of the family.

Heather is very creative, so made most of the wedding decoration details herself. It was absolutely beautiful, such professional work.

The day started with Heather and Damian both getting ready at the venue. Ideal, as they only had a short walk downstairs to then walk down the aisle.

Heather got ready alongside her bridesmaid Kayt and her mother came later on to assist her with getting into her wedding dress. Heather, having a real love for make-up, didn’t need a make-up artist. She did her own and it was perfect! Damian got ready alongside his mother, father and best man, Mike.

As you can tell from our images, Heather and Damian are just so much fun and this came across in the imagery. We love how different each couple are and love to bring personalities across in our work. This wedding had so much emotion, and so much thought had gone into incorporating family members on the day, who are sadly no longer around. Not only did Heather have an image of a grandparent wrapped around her bouquet, but Damian had an image of his grandparent on his buttonhole – such a lovely touch. They also had a table with images of loved ones – this brought their family members to tears on the day.

Heather and Damian’s intimate wedding was an outdoor ceremony. They had to be standing just within the shelter for legalities, and the guests were under a cover in case of rain. It was a beautiful ceremony, the sun was shining and there were lots of giggles throughout.

The most heartfelt moment of the day was when Damian told his parents the idea behind their wedding cake. Damian is a professional singer. On his grandmothers funeral he sang a song for her. The song notes were incorporated into their wedding cake design. Such a unique and touching idea!

Shortly after their first dance, Damian got on the mic and sang for his guests. Such a talented singer!

Their elder family members actually ended up bringing us to tears on the day. Heather’s grandmother looking so beautiful and truly proud of her granddaughter. So special to have such a precious loved one there on such an important day. Not to mention Heather and Damian made an announcement as we were leaving to the guests, thanking us, telling us how much they love us and getting everyone to give us a round of applause. This was so touching! And then, just as we were walking out the door, they told us that their great uncle had purchased their wedding album for them! Such an amazing gift. An elder family member buying a gift that will be passed onto through the future generations! This day couldn’t have been anymore special. We started off working as photographers and ended up making great friends!

  1. Heather & Damian

We met Sonia and Simon at a wedding fair, neither of us wanted to go to! We weren’t hopeful of finding inspiration let alone coming across such amazing photographers/people. As soon as we met them we knew they were something special. We instantly clicked and they were so enthusiastic about us, our wedding and our theme… informal, family oriented , vintage afternoon tea and very personal. Damian and Simon’s friendship formed over a mutual respect of each others beards
On the day of the wedding they arrived at 11 and stayed until 10pm to ensure they captured the whole day. Nothing was too much trouble and they made everyone feel relaxed, important, at ease and they really looked after everyone from my little nephew who doesn’t sit still, to our guests who were 90+ years old and needed a little more time. They not only spent the day taking photographs of the most important day of our lives, but, they felt like two more members of our family.
They captured every moment, moments that as the bride I didn’t see, moments the groom didn’t see, guests arriving, my little nephew being an awesome pageboy, my mother in law telling me to slow down while ‘running’ down the isle, the moment I messed up my lines and said “take 2”, the laughs, the tears, Damian singing for us all and all the love shared during day.
Everyone of our guests spoke in such high regard of Sonia and Simon, not just as ‘wedding photographers’ but as a couple. Many people thought we had known them for years not just the short time that we had.
We are blown away with how amazing our images are, the album is flawless and we cannot wait to show everyone. If you’re reading this and planning your wedding S2 Images will NOT disappoint. We recommend them to everyone and there is not one thing about them as a company we would change. From start to finish they are outstanding and we are so happy that we now get to call them our friends.
